Harts on Fire
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Best wishes to everyone who’s found true love, and that you have a lovely time. And to all of those who have yet to find true love, come join me at the bar and we’ll drink ourselves into a nice unfeeling oblivion. Hurray for cocktails!
I must say, as I get older, I feel that I harbour less and less resentment towards Valentine’s day. Yes, it still stings that I’ve never spent a Valentine’s day with anyone, yes I feel the encroaching fear of winding up abandoned and alone forever, but I definitely don’t feel as genuinely bitter about it as I used to. Now, instead of wishing I had what I don’t have, I’m merely glad that so many people DO have that something. Maybe I’m finally growing up?
… Nah. Can’t be it.
On another note, a special treat for those of you in the US! If you happen to tune into the Late Late Show on Monday, you’ll be presented with a set of dapper young gents from Scotland. Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire will be performing on Craig Ferguson’s show this Monday, and I encourage you to give them a listen! They’re all very talented musicians, and they’ve worked feckin hard to get where they are now. I’ve known their guitarist, Gordon, since high school, and have had the privilege of playing bass in his band while we were there. I’m absolutely thrilled that he’s on the up and up; if anyone I know deserves to have their talent and skill recognised on a global scale, it’s Noddy.
So, remember, Monday’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson! Have a listen to Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire, and love them as Scotland loves them!
I’m away now to indulge in my own personal Valentine’s Day ritual; Building a Lego set. Because Lego cures ALL the bad feels!
See you Monday, folks!
M.
