Hola! I know that a good number of you are quite keen on the world’s favourite pastime, cookery (citation needed), and I’ve shared some of my own recipes with you in the past. Today, however, I’m going to ask you all for some suggestions! I’ve just been chatting with one of my friends about the possibility of using baked camembert as a main course.
Now, usually I’ve found baked cheeses present as part of a sharing platter; with the sheer richness of camembert, it’s not difficult to see why. But would it be possible to have either a whole or a half a baked camembert as the central item in a main dish? I reckon so, if you got the rest of the dish right.
Hola, everyone! Another brief post today, as it’s currently half one the night before this page goes live, and I’ve been somewhat caught up in staying late at work, failing miserably to keep to exercise and dietary regimens, and not having enough actual downtime to not be horribly distracted while working on the next Elf Blood page! Just as well I’ve got a buffer, eh? 😛

It’s a bank holiday today, huzzah! I might venture into town for a coffee, or a nice lunch. Wish payday came before the holiday weekend, though, still counting them pennies!
Anyway, I’m just going to keep it brief so as to wander off and not do those things, instead working on art 😛 But before I go, have a quick look-see at some warm-ups I’ve been doing for the upcoming Mei-Wu block! I think you’ll enjoy it, and it’ll provide a nice little break in-between this and the next arc of Elf Blood!

Welp, another weekend has come and gone, and the week looms over us like a… Great big looming thing. I’m feeling pretty knackered, and though I’ve not done anywhere NEAR the work I should have, I’m still feeling pretty chirpy! It’s been an unusually sociable weekend for me, and it’s been great catching up with people over dinner and the cinema.
Ah well, back to the grind, I suppose. Enjoy today’s page, and I’ll work on getting caught up to the work I didn’t get done this weekend! Cheerio!
So, I caved in and finally got a Netflix subscription the other day.
BEST. DECISION. EVER! There’s plenty on there that I love watching, including gems that I haven’t seen in a while, like the fantastic mid-90s animation Hey, Arnold!
If you haven’t seen Hey, Arnold! before, in a nutshell it’s nominally a kid’s series about the titular character and his friends being kids in the city. In modern terms, it’s almost like a slice-of-life story, with a varied cast of characters from all walks of life. More importantly, each story wasn’t just a fun story about stuff the average 9-year old does (or wishes they could do), it usually also contained a moral too. What was great about the writing was that it never felt like you were being beaten over the head, or preached to; Rather, it seemed to serve more as a demonstration of different social scenarios.

I come to you today with a potential proposal for experimentation. One of the problems I run into while tackling my weekly art workload is that often I’m too busy creating to create! By which I mean I prioritise my Elf Blood work over my print stuff, because I don’t want to miss out a day here and leave you guys hanging. If I lose part of the buffer due to holidays, I obviously have to dedicate more resources to restoring the buffer as soon as possible.
So, the new Doctor has been announced, and it’s cute’n’cuddly Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, most recognised for his role in political satire The Thick Of It.
Now, I stopped watching Dr. Who a fair while ago. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t because the show’s quality declined, I just found myself less and less motivated to watch the programme. With Capaldi on board, however, things might just well change. For a start, they’ve gone for an older Doctor again, which will lend a lot more gravitas to the role; for all the brilliance that David Tennant and Matt Smith have brought, they do feel like they are somewhat geared towards a younger audience. Capaldi definitely appeals to older viewers, and opens up the possibility of writing more mature scripts (and I’m talking mature like documentaries about the industrial revolution, not mature like the shagfest that is Torchwood).
Hullo everyone! It’s hard to believe it’s August already. It feels like only last week it was Christmas…
Anyway, another brief post today I’m afraid, as I’ve run out of buffer due to a lovely, lovely trip for my birthday back up to the green and pleasant land that is Glasgow. Good times were had, white russians were drunk, and lochs were visited, so I’m in a pretty good mood this week! Although I’m sure something’ll crop up at work to obliterate that.
