YES! I CAN HAVE MY LIFE BACK!

I’ve finally completed XCOM 2, clocking in at a relatively cool 49 hours of gameplay time. It’s been every bit as fun as XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and I’ve really enjoyed teh story. But in a way. I’m glad that I’ve finished my first run through.

BECAUSE THE GAME IS SO RIDICULOUSLY ADDICTIVE THAT IT AFFECTS MY PRODUCTIVITY.

I’ve been suffering REALLY badly from “Just one more turn” syndrome, and “I’ll just have a quick battle”-itis. The game is, if anything, just far too enjoyable and distracting from the mundanities of everyday life 😛 read more

X-COM 2: Say goodbye to sleep

Hullo all! Wow, it’s been a busy weekend – Not only have I had to contend with additional workload ahead of my couple of days in Manchester this week, it’s also been the time for the traditional Chinese New Year dinner with family. This year, particularly special because two of my cousins are over from Hong Kong studying, and it was really nice to see both of them! I did, however, manage to sneak in an hour or two of the newly launched XCOM 2, and let me tell you, it’s something special. So far, I’m finding it even more tense than Enemy Unknown, and the storyline is fascinating; I think they managed to hide away enough from the teasers they released ahead of the game to make the story totally compelling, even for someone who has followed news of the game in development. Definitely worth a look in. read more
