Post of quickness
Aloha folks! Another swift update today, as I’ve been quite busy for much of the weekend cleaning the flat in time for inspection. Yes, the flat was that horrendously untidy. Yes, regular inspections are horrendously draconian. Yes, I’m looking forward to owning my own house… In, like, four years’ time. And even then, the deposit I’ll have saved up will probably be peanuts compared to what house-prices will probably be by that point.
On the plus side, my good pal Bob and I have been playing this ol’ blast from the past!
I used to play this ALL the time when I was in high school, and since the studio closed down a while back it’s been released and an open source version has been made. I really, really love the Nullbot AI that’s been written for it by the Open Source crew; It has some really interesting behaviour that’s challenged us pretty well. By which I mean much screaming and frustration has been endured, with multiple threats to the bot being made by both of us, and a determination not to make such stupid mistakes again 😛
Enjoy today’s page! Toodlepip for now!
M.

I really love your art but in my opinion, you should fix that fourth panel. Sorry if most of my posts seems mostly corrections and stuff X_X
In fairness, I did redraw that panel a few times as I couldn’t get it quite right. When you’re on a limited schedule, sometimes you just have to call it a day and crack on with the rest of it! If I had more time, I’d practice more and get things perfect, but unfortunately real life does tend to get in the way!
And don’t apologise for critiquing! If I couldn’t take it, I certainly wouldn’t still be doing the comic 😛
Hell, if I didn’t take criticism on board and folded at it instead, the comic might well have ended just after the start of the Miscalculation arc. Sonia Leong from Sweatdrop ABSOLUTELY ravaged my art style when I asked her for advice. Yeah, I felt a bit crappy for a bit, but you know what I did after that con? I went straight back home and started practicing. I drew a HELL of a lot of anatomy studies that winter, and though I’m not perfect (as panel 4 shows!) I’ve improved ten times from where I was before. If you guys don’t point out my flaws, I’ll never improve. And if I never improve, what’s the point in calling myself an artist?
Still, it’s nice to hear what I’m doing right every once in a while 😛 But that’s just me fishing for compliments 😛 Cheers! I don’t have time to correct this page in particular, but I’ll certainly practice my “looking over shoulder” poses. Most times I’ve wanted to do them, I’ve chickened out and done something else instead. At least this gives me motivation to practice hard at it!
Amen. I’m really glad you got critique easily. Everytime I do something creative and need critique, I don’t get any:P
