Elf Blood

Hey everyone – sorry about today’s comic not being finished, I’m afraid a combination of lingering exhaustion from last week’s week-long corporate shenanigans and spending all day Saturday preparing dinner for my family lead to me sleeping through much of Sunday. Wish I could’ve summoned up the energy to do more than just the pencils today, but I absoultely cannot push myself any further, I really really really need to rest. Fear not, though, Mei Wu will return on Friday! The photo above was taken during a little Urban Exploration trip I took with some friends at the start of the year to an abandoned powerplant. It’s the closest I’ve ever come to being in the world of one of my favouritest games ever, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Oh, and if you’re interested, my menu from Saturday was:

• Aperitifs: Unblended Strawberry Daiquiri shots, and Chelada shots.
• Starters: Home-cured gravadlax served on fresh-baked rye bread with sweet mustard and pickles, baked camembert with garlic and thyme, and miniature tomato, parma ham, and comté cocktail kebabs.
• Main: Sausage-stuffed chicken breasts brushed with home-made aioli and wrapped in parma ham, served with home-made risotto and salad.
• Dessert: Home-made lemon parfait on Scottish oatcakes served with summer berries.

Protip for young chefs: Buy a damn cake mixer. Spent almost an hour in total whipping eggs and cream for the parfait – well worth it, though, I was so so happy with how the parfait and the gravadlax turned out!
