Ahoy thar maties, it’s been a busy weekend – despite my body’s attempts to be ill – so I’ll keep this brief! I’ve got a couple of more in-depth articles planned, which I’m actually going to have to spend some time on, but I hope you’ll enjoy them both; Even though one’s definitely a bit sillier than the other.

While we wait for the essay tree to bear its fruit, however, I offer you this – in cooperation with a colleague, I have constructed a new cocktail that is just bursting with complex flavours:

“The Drrty South”

2 parts Bourbon
1 part Kahlua
Twist of Lemon to garnish

Shake ingredients and serve on the rocks.

The lemon gives an essential fruity burst of lightness to start off the drink, while the bourbon gives the whole drink a solid woody base. The kahlua sweetens it just enough – the coffee helps round out the woody taste.

It makes for an excellent sipping drink, and would go well I think with a roaring fire, especially seeing as the snow has finally arrived in the UK! Let me know if you decide to try it, I’d love to hear what other people think of it.

Until next time, amigos y amigas!

M.
