Point of Interest: This is the 600th page I’ve ever produced for Elf Blood. Quite a milestone! And how fitting that on this page, I’m experimenting with a new technique that I’ve been trying to figure out by studying various different comics. Although, of course, in Elf Blood, this is just being used as dressing to a flashback scene. I’m hoping to use this colouring style for a few other projects:

  • Two short compendia of micro-horror stories (for easy production and sale)
  • A 30-page self-contained graphic novel (that I’d quite like to spin into a series of self-contained stories, รก la Tintin)
  • A much longer, epic graphic novel series that I’m probably going to push towards the backburner until I have more stuff that can be printed for sale.

I must say, I’m pleased with the result – Far from being dull, I think the monochromatic scheme helps to tie the entire landscape together, and fights the lines less. Plus, deliberation in the colour choice helps convey more of a mood than the normal colour scheme. I’m excited to start deploying this on other comics!

Welp, hope you all have a great weekend folks – I’ll see you on Monday! Toodles for now!
