Hot Vinyl!

Hey everyone! Here’s the first (well, the second, really) Hot Vinyl design in my little break between Mei Wu and Elf Blood. I quite like the design, but what do you think about the colours? I always had a subdued green palette in mind, but are they really noticeable as they are? Would it work better with a brighter, more saturated palette?

Hello everyone, apologies for another holding page, I didn’t quite get today’s page finished, as it’s been another busy week. But, I think you’ll agree, that I at least have a good reason to be a bit delayed! I’m proud to have been a contributor to this article in The Ferret, and I hope they continue on with their body of excellent investigative journalism for a long time to come.

Oops

Hey everyone – sorry about today’s comic not being finished, I’m afraid a combination of lingering exhaustion from last week’s week-long corporate shenanigans and spending all day Saturday preparing dinner for my family lead to me sleeping through much of Sunday. Wish I could’ve summoned up the energy to do more than just the pencils today, but I absoultely cannot push myself any further, I really really really need to rest. Fear not, though, Mei Wu will return on Friday! The photo above was taken during a little Urban Exploration trip I took with some friends at the start of the year to an abandoned powerplant. More filler

Hi everyone, sorry for another filler post, but life is being a bit hectic again – After a busy week at work last week, I thought I was pretty clear after my trip to the theatre on Friday. Unfortunately, some emergency family graphic design and a newly discovered wasps nest have kind of put a squeeze on my weekend, leaving me precious little time to do today’s page. I did manage to get this logo design done on Friday evening, though, before everything went a bit wobbly.

Such a social butterfly

Hey folks! Owing to the spate of unprecedented good weather, I’ve been rather busy this weekend, so I’ve only been able to do a quick Extra page for today, sorry! Apparently it’s Mer-May, so I though I’d draw a mermaid. I’m actually pretty pleased with it – might even make some prints of this and incorporate the design into my sticker collection!

One more time!

Hi everyone, sorry again for the schedule slip – I’ve had an incredibly busy weekend, covering the Paisley Comic Con and also visiting my Grandpa and helping out my Gran – Grandpa unfortunately took a bit of a tumble at home and is in the hospital, but don’t worry, he’s not hurt! Just very bored in his hospital bed.

I absolutely guarantee a page next Friday, I’ve been very slowly working on the next page of Mei Wu, but because of the aforementioned weekend activities, it’s either push this further down the line or stay up all night and be knackered at work the next day, which has a knock-on effect throughout the week 🙁 read more

Hey everyone, sorry for doing this to you, but between having to stay late and fix things for people at work and getting involved with the special Drink and Draw for the Paisley Comic Con, I just have not had time to do a proper page for this week. So I beg your forgiveness, and ask that you might accept this page I did while at said Drink And Draw instead of today’s Mei Wu page!

Normal service resumes, again, on Monday, whatever normal passes for in my life these days 🙁

Ye Olde Filler Materiale

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.

Welp, I’m back from Luxembourg, and in a reasonably decent mood about it because a) it went quite well and b) I’m on holiday next week and I am THOROUGHLY looking forward to it. And if I’ve got time off coming up, you all know what that means! It’s time for another:

HOLIDAY QUEST LIST

  • Main Quest: Finish up Horror Buffet formatting.
  • Main Quest: Submit Horror Buffet Vol 1 and Bonnie Words Iss 1 for print.
  • Main Quest: Tidy up the house and give it a good clean.
  • Main Quest: Go jogging three times.
  • Main Quest: Complete one more module each in Mandarin and Spanish on Rosetta Stone.
  • Faction Quest: Record a Let’s Play of Cloud Break for the Gallus Geeks
  • Faction Quest: Drunken Open Mic antics with old friends from High School

Let’s see how I actually get on!

So Tired

Hey everyone, so sorry to do this, but I’m still recovering from my week away and just could not focus on drawing anything today. Instead, have some sketches I did while I was in Toronto – fantastic city, by the way, absolutely brilliant and filled with the friendliest people I’ve ever met outside of Scotland! Oh, and total props to King’s Noodle Restaurant on Spadina, absolutely delicious Chinese food. I could’ve sworn I was back in Hong Kong…

Anyway, unfortunately I have to inform you that the next month might see a fair few more of these interruptions. I’ll always try and have some kind of sketch or something to tide you over, but in all honesty I’d much rather be illustrating my stories than palming you off on minor sketches and stuff! Suffice to say, I have a lot of serious thinking to do about the way my life is going – I’ve already had an excellent chat with my folks, who’re just the most supportive, understanding, yet brutally honest people in the world. read more

Homeward bound!

Hey guys! Welp, it’s been a great Canadian adventure for me, but it’s time to come home, and hopefully be left alone long enough to get Bonnie Words and horror Buffet #1 off to print, and to work on my other new material!

Anyhoodle, with this sticker, I was trying to do something else, just something that didn’t necessarily have a message, just something that was cool, combining aspects of mosh/goth/emo/scene, guys that girls I know find attractive, and guys that I find attractive, with the overall aim of designing something that might look good on the cover of somebody’s notebook, or on the side of an amp, or on a guitar case. read more
