Such a delightful weekend!

Let me tell you what absolute bliss is:

It’s finding out that your new workplace is pretty damn chill, the work is interesting, and the company really does need your precise skillset. And you get a chance to demonstrate it!

It’s spending a nice quarter hour sitting on the steps of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall as the sun sets on Sauchiehall street, sipping an iced latte and listening to a classical guitarist.

It’s meeting up with an old pal, and meeting a new pal, and going for a nice meal. read more

Hullo again, everybody! Sorry about the lack of a proper article on Friday’s post; I may have been enjoying a wheat beer given to me by one of my erstwhile colleagues as a leaving present, and utterly forgot to update the damn thing with actual words…

Moving day!

The day is finally here! It’s been a hectic weekend, getting everything packed away, and it’s a little sad to see the flat that I’ve lived in for the last four years go back to the blank, anonymous state I found it in, but every time I think of what’s waiting for me at the end of that trip… It’s all gonna be worthwhile! So, farewell Manchester! Goodbye to all the friends and colleagues I’ve met here, and I hope everything goes brilliantly for you!

Brace, brace, brace!

Welp, the weekend is upon us! Today is my last day at my current job, and on Monday I move back to my beloved Glasgow! This weekend’ll be spent packing up the rest of my stuff, and hopefully everything’ll go just dandy.

The next couple of weeks’ posts will be scheduled, but I’ll probably write the actual posts live, just to keep you updated with what’s happening! I’ll also be using some fanart to help smooth things over a bit, graciously passed on by one of my pals and fellow writers/artists here in Manchester. Hidden Gems

Hullo all! Just a brief post, as I’ve knackered myself through a combination of illustration and packing today. I decided to sort and pack away or discard a bunch of papers in my drawer and in my cupboard. I managed to find a load of drawings that go up to about 8 years old. My word, have I improved in the intervening time! I even rescued comic pencils from about 6 years ago for a comic I did called Organ Grinda. Not that I intend on using the pencils to create a new comic, but rather that I actually quite enjoyed the style and universe of the work! I wouldn’t mind re-doing the script and visuals, once I’m back in Glasgow and have a bit of time! read more

Gettin’ Real Over Here

Eep! Somebody reminded me the other day; I move back to Glasgow 2 weeks from now! While I’ve been doing bits of packing here and there, and have accumulated an impressive number of boxes in the flat, it’s really hitting me now that I don’t have much time left. I’ve done my best to sort various and sundry out, and really now it’s just a matter of waiting… But still, it’s all a bit nerve-wracking!

But the good kind of nerve-wracking 😀 Although I’ll be pretty damn glad when I’ve gotten past the first move, and then in a couple of months down the line, moved again (though that will be within Glasgow, and I’ll be based at my parents’ house in the interim, so that should be significantly less hassle!) read more

Posts of no consequence: Lack of Sleep Edition

It’s not that I’ve not been sleeping well, or even that I’ve been staying up later than normal (although I do tend to stay up rather later than most people would consider sane, just to keep up with the comic). I’ve just been feeling incredibly sleepy as of recent, during the day!

Time was that I would connect the sleepiness to my low moods, but as of recent I’ve been in an exceptionally GOOD mood, seeing as how I’m heading back home to Glasgow soon! One might argue that I’m simply stressed out about the move, and I’ll admit that I’m almost constantly thinking about it. But it’s different. I’m not anxious about it, nor am I worried in any major respect. It’s just a major event that’s coming up, and I need to plan for it! read more
