I’m sure I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m a big fan of the Marble Hornets web video series. I’ve recently developed a craving for found-footage horror again, so I thought I’d dip into the other main players in the Slenderverse. I’ve gotta say, there’s a LOT of creativity out there! I’m up to date on EverymanHYBRID and TribeTwelve, and I’m working my way through DarkHarvest00. I’m really enjoying how they’re all connecting together, which is something that wasn’t present in the otherwise-excellent Marble Hornets series.

Aloha mateys! Hope you’re all doing well, I thought I’d space the end of the last Elf Blood arc and the start of the next Mei Wu story with a little Extra of everyone’s favourite fox cub, Fliss. I decided to dabble a little in some blended shading, and I think it turned out quite nicely on her! Too time-consuming to consider for the regular comic though, I’m afraid, but still, nice to play around with!
Sunday was a lovely day – proper day of summer, you know the ones where you really struggle to keep cool and even the fan just starts blowing around warm air. Took the opportunity to get a little gardening work done, and cut up some old cardboard boxes for recycling. The real cherry on the top actually came on Saturday night – On Friday, I fell asleep at 12, as I was so exhausted from work, and didn’t wake up ’til 12 on Saturday afternoon. Naturally, I wasn’t able to get to sleep at my normal time, so I continued drawing well into the wee hours of the morning – and got to witness a thunderstorm 😀
Now, since the independence referendum and the run-up to the recent General Election, I think it’s safe to say that the Labour Party have not been my favourite political group on the planet – I’ve found their rhetoric, their tactics, and their lack of ability (or indeed desire) to provide adequate opposition to the Tory government.
However, a lot of my friends in England still adhere to Labour, because otherwise there is no real credible force for the left wing to attach themselves to. I had high hopes for the Green party in England, to help restore a left wing bent to politics in the region, but sadly they just didn’t have the clout to convince people. And so a lot of voters stuck with Labour, because of what the party stood for in the past, and represented.
… so I hope you won’t mind if I keep this blog post short. I had the great pleasure of showing some family form Hong Kong around Glasgow today and catching up with them yesterday, so my time has been a bit pressed this weekend. One day, I’ll have a nice lie-in and properly recharge my batteries!
Anyway, until Friday! Cheerio for now pals, and have a great week!

Hullo everyone!
It’s been another exhausting week, but hope is on the horizon! If the chaos manages to keep itself to a minimum tomorrow, I maaaaay just be able to slip away from work a couple of hours early… Which reduces my time owed down to… Just over two full work days. And that’s just since I started counting!
That two hours could give me a real boost, though. If I have more time, I can be more relaxed, and if I’m more relaxed, I’m more amenable to being creative. If all goes well, I’ll be doing a bit of painting later on today, which I’m massively looking forward to!
Well, here’s what shoulve have been Friday’s page – Even this took me longer than I expected to finish off, despite my having drawn and inked it on Monday evening.
I’m finding more and more that work is cutting into my art time, and it’s getting incredibly frustrating. Of course, even though it’s not what I want to do for the rest of my life, I want to do the right thing and do the best possible job while I’m at work. But that work is getting incredibly draining. Either I’m working extra hours that directly mean I don’t get enough time to both illustrate/write AND have dinner before I collapse in a heap in bed, or I’m working extra hours which means that I’m too exhausted to do anything at the weekend. Just this week, I had to work until 2000 on Friday evening finishing something off for a client. I then had to go and do my weekly shop, which somehow took me up to 2130. Then, the bus didn’t show up until 2230. So, to nobody’s surprise, instead of finishing off the penultimate page of Bonnie Words (which I’m considering my first real step towards professional publication) on Saturday, I spent the day sleeping, complaining to my family, and generally trying to de-stress.
Hey guys, I’m really sorry I didn’t finish today’s page on-time. I thought I’d be able to get the time this evening to complete the page (I did the pencils and the inking on Monday, but there’s no way I’d be able to complete the colouring AND the shading AND the lettering without it stretching on to 2AM or longer). I can’t even take my hours owed and start tomorrow, as there’s more crises erupting that, for some reason or another, I seem to be the only one available to fix.
Welp, that’s another birthday come and gone. Remember at the start of last week when I laid out all the plans I had to work on creative projects? Yeah, didn’t get any of that accomplished. As it turns out, when your birthday rolls around, people want to see you. Damn social life!
On the plus side, I am now in possession of a Wii U, which is inordinate amounts of fun. I particularly enjoyed one moment that occurred on Friday, when a pal was attempting a power-swing in Wii-U tennis, and wound up absolutely smacking my chandelier fixture. First time I’ve actually hosted people in my new house, and while I’ll be glad to get back into the normal routine, it was really nice to be sociable for a change!
Hullo everyone, really sorry the comic’s a bit late today! It’s been a manic last few days, filled with catching up with people, meals out, and… Wii U Sports Club golf. I actually fell asleep last night as I was finishing this page, and had to pick it up first thing this morning. Hope I didn’t disappoint you too much!
Anyway, time to go and prepare the house for hosting, and then bustle out to meet my grandparents. It’s all go today, as well!
See you on Monday! Have a great weekend, everyone!
It’s birthday time again, woohoo! Just another day of work to survive, then I’m off for a few days – so far as I’m concerned, a very well earned few days off. What will I be up to over the break I hear you ask? Well, here’s a little list!
– Daytrip up past Loch Lomond for scenery and delicious seafood.
– Dinner with my family (haven’t decided where yet)
– Revising and completing a competition entry short story (with many thanks to Fallible)
– Completing the first draft of another competition entry short
– Finishing off the last two story pages of my comic for submission
– Slaying Black Gravios and advancing to Hunter Rank 6
– Practicing my curry
– Generally hanging out with my pals
