On the punching of Nazis

I’m sure we’ve all seen the gif/video snippet of a guy wearing a swastika being punched clean out. Here is my statement on this:

  • People should be free to express their opinions without fear of restriction of their freedom by the government – this is the guarantee of freedom of speech.
  • When said opinion is that entire groups people are inherently inferior and should be wiped off the face of the planet through organised violence, don’t be surprised when someone punches you out.
  • Just because you can do something legally, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
  • Seriously, fuck Nazis.
  • Stop telling us that we need to tolerate their bullshit, they want to erase people like me from existence and telling me that I need to ‘respect their opinion and be less angry’ tells me you don’t actually give a shit about anyone other than yourself, and just want to live a quiet life of ignorance.

    The world is going mental.

    It barely needs saying, but the world has gone absolutely mental in the week since the last page. Yesterday’s terrorist attack in Spain was sickening, a continuation of misplaced, pointless, indiscriminate violence that does nothing but reinforce the powerbase of unhinged maniacs at the expense of innocent lives.

    And last weekend’s Nazi rallies. Aiyaa. Nope, there is no calling them anything else – they’re Nazis. And all sorts of apologists came crawling out.

    And, with the newly revived threat of nuclear chaos being unleashed upon us, it all makes for some very depressing existing. read more

    Feeling fun again!

    Hey everybody! It’s new Elf Blood story page time, yay!

    Having taken a little break from doing sequential art, and dropping the webcomic to 1 page a week has really let me find the fun in doing these again – I’m able to put time into other things, which is letting me fulfil a lot of other creative needs. That’s not to say I’m done growing in my artwork, not at all – but having time to explore other things helps my creativity over all. For example, my interest in film-making is feeding back into my artwork, via colour grading and ‘shot’ composition. I’m able to do a bit more writing too, which obviously helps my comic work, and I’m even getting back into music composition. Which doesn’t help my comics, it just reminds me where I’ve come from 🙂 read more
