Hey everyone, just a quick one today – a little observation that, when people talk about battling mental illness, it’s almost a literalism. I’m alright, but I’ve spent most of today actively having to fight against a little surge in my low-self esteem. It’s not much fun having to constantly re-guide myself back towards the task at hand, actively straining against long stretches of fruitless introspection, painful reminiscing and ultimately self-pitying google searches. It stretches the day out and leaves me tired and emotionally drained, as I constantly dance between wanting to throw myself into my work or wanting to find someone to spill my guts to.

Hey all, just a brief message for today, mostly directed at you good folks across the pond;
What in the name of the seven hells is going on over there? I mean really, seriously, what? It’s just… What?
Then again, the UK’s not really much better off right now ourselves, so…
Welp, one cannot say that we don’t live in interesting times! Stay safe, everyone, and keep your communities close – we’re all going to need each other, no matter your position in society or where you are.
One of the oddest things about being a creator is that you’re driven to seek out conversation and companionship, while simultaneously trying to constantly return to some kind of individualistic hermithood, the solitude in which one can actually get things done. Nowhere is this more evident than in the festive season!
I love my family and friends, I really do, and I suppose this statement will potentially come off as being somewhat selfish and ungrateful – but I’m glad that all my social engagements are now concluded! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored every minute I spent with them. I caught up with some people I haven’t seen in a long time, I’ve had some excellent laughs with others and I’ve made some brilliant memories with others yet still.
Hey everyone! Just a quick post today, as I’m still knackered from Monday’s Urban Exploration antics – I’ve never climbed my way through so much forest before. But it was so totally worth it! I’ll maybe share a few of my photos with you, once I’ve processed them.
Anyway, going to lie in bed for half an hour before I have to get up for work. Catch you all again on Monday!
Cheerio,
M.
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great celebration, whether you were with family, friends, or having a quiet one on your own!
Just going to leave a brief message here as I REALLY need to go pack my bag – going to do some photography and sketching today and I am WOEFULLY underprepared. Largely because I’ve spent the last two days eating far too much at my folks’ house and had to draw today’s page mostly in the last few hours 😛
Toodle-oo for now!

I thought working the stretch between Christmas and New Year might be a bit of a drag, but you know what? It’s not been bad at all – I’ve actually managed to get my own work done, which is a vanishing rarity nowadays!
Still, though, it’s time I could otherwise be spending writing or drawing, so we’re not quite there yet – I doubt I’ll ever be satisfied with an office job. Ultimately, it’s just not me. Here’s hoping 2017 brings even more progress for me, creatively!
Hey everybody! Merry Christmas to you all, I hope you had a great one if you were celebrating, and a nice relaxing Sunday if you weren’t! I’m just grateful to have a couple of days off work…. My own plans? Tidy up the damn kitchen, and get the final page of my Horror Buffet anthology completed, and get my artistic output back on track.
‘Til Friday, pals!

I’m fed up of having to miss pages because of other peoples’ incompetence. I cannot be the only person in here capable of doing what I do. I left my previous role precisely to avoid this kind of last-minute high-stakes bullshit, but apparently they haven’t found anyone to replace me and my skillset.
You want me to save your fucking six million dollar deal? Give me a goddamn percentage of it. Until then, I am done. DONE. Saving your asses. See my part? My part works. Yeah, there were a couple of problems with it, but I’ve taken them on-board and – let’s face it – they weren’t the things that were holding the project back. See all the nonsense I’ve had to correct along the way? All the mis-configurations, the misunderstandings, the miscommunications and the OUTRIGHT BUTCHERING of the work that I did for the product?
Y’know, when I don’t get to deliver you comic pages on time, it really does get to me. I absolutely love doing the webcomic. It’s not just a practice piece to me, it’s a story that I’ve been working on for the best part of a decade now, with characters who are an integral part of my personality and psyche. And knowing that you guys are reading it really makes it all worthwhile, that I’ve been able to entertain you for so long!
After the annoyances and hassles of my day job the last week or two, it’s been great to just sit back down at my drawing board and crack on with the comic. It feels like getting back to being me, like I’ve been outside of myself for a while. I’m hoping my routine resets itself to normal until the next big disruption in February (and hopefully not sooner than that). I’m desperate to finish off the Horror Buffet shorts so I can get them to print and start attending conventions and whatnot next year – something I constantly tell myself, but never quite get round to. But I’ve got some real motivation now, with some great people, and I’ve got some successes under my belt now to shore up my confidence.
Hey folks – just one more filler extra. Sorry again about the need for this, but a work trip abroad was sprung upon me at the last minute that overlapped with my weekend (which frankly I think should not be allowed) and I haven’t had the chance to rest let alone work on comics.
As consolation, I guess, I brought my sketchbook along and did some drawing (with, as you’ll notice, my spiffing new blue pencil leads which for some reason makes drawing feel swankier). I tried drawing something like the old Good Gal artwork, but with more… attitude, I guess, and with a more subtle sexuality. I’d like to expand this out to both Good Gal and Good Guy artwork and produce a series of vinyl stickers. When I was younger, I bought a few manga-style stickers from a series called ‘hook-ups’ that were meant to be applied to skateboards. These still live on the plectrum guard of my bass guitar, and formed the inspiration basis of this idea.
