Feeling fun again!

Chapter:

Hey everybody! It’s new Elf Blood story page time, yay!

Having taken a little break from doing sequential art, and dropping the webcomic to 1 page a week has really let me find the fun in doing these again – I’m able to put time into other things, which is letting me fulfil a lot of other creative needs. That’s not to say I’m done growing in my artwork, not at all – but having time to explore other things helps my creativity over all. For example, my interest in film-making is feeding back into my artwork, via colour grading and ‘shot’ composition. I’m able to do a bit more writing too, which obviously helps my comic work, and I’m even getting back into music composition. Which doesn’t help my comics, it just reminds me where I’ve come from 🙂 read more

Fun in the… Copious Rain.

Chapter:

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Elf Blood! Here’s the cover for a brand new story arc – Hands of Mara 2, Lost Pleiad!

Me? Well, I’ve been on holiday this week, and in a bid to actually have something resembling a holiday, I’ve been keeping the ol’ work to a minimum. Mostly, I’ve been playing Disgaea 5 and neglecting the total mess that my house is in. It’s a system, it works for me, y’know?

Anyways, hope you’re looking forward to the upcoming arc! Feels good to be back drawing Elf Blood, even if it is only one day a week 🙂 read more

Nearly… There…

by on July 28, 2017 at 6:00 am
Chapter:

Just one more day to survive at work… Then I can go on holiday… Just one more day…

This is the last in Hot Vinyl Set #1! I hope you’ve enjoyed them, and thanks for letting me do these – it really helps save a lot of time, and it’s been great fun sharing them with you as well 🙂 Hopefully I can get these printed off in short order so I’ve got even more merch to sell at conventions and comic fairs!

Don’t forget, from this point on, I’m changing to a Friday-only release, so there’ll be no comic on Monday, for the first time in just under eight years! Blimey. Tune in Friday for the cover of the next Elf Blood arc – Hands of Mara 2! read more

Hot Vinyl!

by on July 17, 2017 at 6:00 am
Chapter:

Hey everyone! Here’s the first (well, the second, really) Hot Vinyl design in my little break between Mei Wu and Elf Blood. I quite like the design, but what do you think about the colours? I always had a subdued green palette in mind, but are they really noticeable as they are? Would it work better with a brighter, more saturated palette?

Do let me know 🙂 Tune in on Friday for another Hot Vinyl! Really looking forward to getting these done and printed! Though I really need to get a move on with setting up an online store… read more

We made it!

Chapter:

Hey everyone! That’s it, the end of Mei Wu book four! Phew! What a journey! I really hope you enjoyed it 🙂 I love delving into the hidden world of the foxes every now and then, but I’m absolutely ready to jump back into the Elfy goings-on of the Elf Blood plot. I’m especially jazzed about the upcoming story, because we get to spend extra time with a group of characters we’ve only really seen glimpses of in other characters’ stories – The Pleiades, assistants to the Sages. The title of the story? “Hands of Mara II: Seven Sisters”. read more

Chapter:

Hola everyone! How was your weekend? I had a great time, actually getting down to some work on my print projects. I mean, I love my friends and family, but every once in a while it’s nice to have time to oneself 😀

Anyway, time to start the ol’ work week. Thoroughly looking forward to my holiday at the end of the month, so prepare yourself for another Holiday Quest 😛

Have a great week folks, and I’ll see you on Friday for the last page of this issue of Mei Wu! Cheerio for now!

More delays, unfortunately

by on July 7, 2017 at 6:00 am
Chapter:

Hey folks, sorry again for the filler page – a combination of family and work commitments and simply not getting enough sleep lead to me just completely crashing out on Wednesday night. I’ve been getting back into bad habits recently, falling asleep wherever I am around the house, which is kind of its own feedback loop as I’m not getting decent or consistent sleep. Hopefully things’ll calm down a bit, though – at the very least, I’ve got minimal commitments this weekend, so I can take some time for myself to just relax and recharge. read more

Improbable Mixology

by on July 3, 2017 at 6:00 am
Chapter:

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. It’s been another hectic weekend, getting stuff sorted for my fellow Gallus Geeks’ wedding, catching up with family, and generally reassembling the house so it looks like less of a pigsty.

On the plus side, I FINALLY got a video that I’ve been working on finished. For some reason, it took me ages to get the music sorted – I just couldn’t quite nail the ending, which was a bit frustrating considering it was just a bit of bland muzak to go behind a chopped-up video. But, I got there in the end, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it! read more
