Let’s sum up modern reality, shall we?
A maniacal moron might be elected president of the United States, Westminster is driving us towards an oblivion that might not just destroy the constituent parts of the UK but also the European Union as well, and intolerance and fear is at an all-time high.
And what are people most concerned about online?
The Great British Bake-Off is moving from BBC to Channel 4.
Get a grip, people.
M.

tis why I am GLAD I’m too broke to drink…because these people are driving me to drink. But, I’ve developed this thing called taste. You’ve heard of it yes? đŸ™‚ And well, I would be drinking like a fish but I like good whisky and that isn’t cheap.
I stopped watching TV 14 years ago, when my Sony wouldn’t turn on. I grumbled a bit, trying to think how to justify replacement costs, and then realized I hadn’t turned it on in 6 months. That made any decision easy. So, baking shows or barking shows, I’m neutral on it.
As to the rest, it sounds like you aspire to the same sort of progressive paranoia we get here in the Portland, Oregon, Metro area. True, we have the worst set of choices for President since, ….Fremont and Buchanan, IMHO. A progressive conman, and a progressive felon who has so many people under her thumb she cannot be indicted. Sort of like a condensed version of the EU’s corruption scandal, where the investigator was the one who ended up in jail, before he could indict any members of the EU Council? FBI Director Comey was not willing to risk it. At any rate, I’ll end up voting for our present version of Fremont. At least his election may shock the progressive establishment into paying attention to their voting majority again. Whatever May may do, its probable result will be to destroy the idea that the political existence of a progressive ratchet towards an ever more intrusive State is not synonymous with the British Nation. That may be good for Britain, as bad as it may be for those dependent on the State, in the short term.
