What a weekend!

What a fantastic wedding that was – I’ve never seen my old boss so genuinely, purely happy! It was a wonderful occasion, in a lovely location, meeting up with friends and colleagues past. I’m so glad I was invited down, both for the happy couple and for a lovely little reunion between the old team.

I’d also like to offer congratulations to my good friend and ex-colleague Tom, who became a dad on the very morning of the wedding! I think it’s safe to say that his beautiful little girl is going to be one of the best-loved children on the face of the planet, and I know she’s going to grow up to be an awesome person because she has two of the nicest, most intelligent and awesome people I know as parents. read more

Celebratory Occasions

Hullo everyone, I’m at a wedding just now, which meant that today’s comic was finished earlier on in the week under an even tighter timescale than normal – I do apologise for the recent drop in quality in the comic, I find myself having less and less time due to the dayjob spilling over rather too often into my art time. I do try to keep up, but at some point the late nights build up and build up.

Anyway, I’m hoping that soon I’ll be back down to a normal, manageable workload, so that I can once again resume my pursuit of artistic excellence. ‘Til then, though, I hope you’ll forgive me and tough it through these rough patches! read more

Keep on fightin’!

Ah, those were some good birthday shenanigans. I highly recommend the Living Room on St. Vincent Street in Glasgow, for those of you in search of tasty cocktails and awesome atmosphere. Though it’s not required, I do advise dressing up a bit for the occasion: You’ll feel so much more suave and sophisticated. Try the Black Cherry and Vanilla Manhattan!

But anyway, to business, and today’s business concerns dreams. The word dream is very frequently used in day-to-day discussion; I dream of one day doing this, you dream of becoming a that, they have a dream of achieving something else. Somewhat related to my rant the other week about ideas and execution, I assert that dreams themselves are merely nascent goals. Life goals are dreams for which you have set out a reasonable, achievable plan to work towards. Perhaps they change throughout life, and having just turned 25 (mid-twenties, argh), I thought that maybe my goals might have changed. read more
