Jeez, how long have I been committing this particular form of madness? Seven years? Blimey, it seems just like yesterday I was putting pencil to paper for the first time… I really have grown massively both as an artist and as a storyteller, and the fact that the comic has actually gotten me work is something I will remain eternally grateful to it for. Elf Blood is so much more than just a practice piece for me – it’s a part of me, it’s the story I have to tell, with characters I care for almost over and above characters from other stories I create!

Holy shaving cream, Elf Blood is SIX YEARS OLD! Who knew that I’d still be going with this after starting in my waning university years?
Has it brought me fame and fortune? Well, no, but it has brought me a wealth of experience in writing and illustration, and most importantly – it’s brought me you guys. It always fills my heart with joy to see names reappear in the comments year after year, and I always get a little flutter of excitement when I see a new name chip in too!
People often ask me how I can continue doing all the work that I do – Elf Blood being the main item, but as you know I do an awful lot of other creative work as well. And honestly? I love entertaining people. I love it when you guys get involved, or show emotion for the characters or storyline. I love the fact that you’ve stuck with me and the comic, despite the wealth of other options available – despite the many flaws I’m constantly seeking to improve upon, I must be doing something at least a little bit right!
It’s birthday time again, woohoo! Just another day of work to survive, then I’m off for a few days – so far as I’m concerned, a very well earned few days off. What will I be up to over the break I hear you ask? Well, here’s a little list!
– Daytrip up past Loch Lomond for scenery and delicious seafood.
– Dinner with my family (haven’t decided where yet)
– Revising and completing a competition entry short story (with many thanks to Fallible)
– Completing the first draft of another competition entry short
– Finishing off the last two story pages of my comic for submission
– Slaying Black Gravios and advancing to Hunter Rank 6
– Practicing my curry
– Generally hanging out with my pals
Hola! I’ll keep this short and sweet, as I really should be in bed for work in a few hours, but also because I’m knackered! It’s been an awesomely fun week; I had a few days off to celebrate my birthday and one of my good pal’s birthdays, and much bbq was consumed. I think I’m getting my recipe for bbq sauce down pat!
Anyway, enjoy today’s page, and I’ll catch you all again on Monday! Toodle-oo!

Bon anniversaire! Elf Blood was four years old, a few days ago!
Blimey, four years already. Hard to believe that it’s been a while since I was first scribbling stuff down in the common room at uni, instead of doing coursework! Which would… Which would explain rather a lot, actually.
I jest 😛 My artwork and my storytelling ability has advanced in leaps and bounds since then, and even as I look back on last year’s stories, I continue to improve on my theory and practice! Even though, on this year’s birthday, we’re telling a different story, I’m hard at work on the script for the next block of Elf Blood. I’m having a great time with Mei Wu, and it’s REALLY good to get a bit of a break from writing and drawing Elf Blood, but I’m itching to get back to it now, and to expanding its canon a bit! However, I am floating plans to separate each Elf Blood arc with the next book of Mei Wu, as it seems to have been reasonably well-received. I’ll probably ask about that again at the conclusion of this book, though!
Hullo everyone! It’s hard to believe it’s August already. It feels like only last week it was Christmas…
Anyway, another brief post today I’m afraid, as I’ve run out of buffer due to a lovely, lovely trip for my birthday back up to the green and pleasant land that is Glasgow. Good times were had, white russians were drunk, and lochs were visited, so I’m in a pretty good mood this week! Although I’m sure something’ll crop up at work to obliterate that.
Guess what! Elf Blood is THREE YEARS OLD this week! How awesome is that? It’s not been an easy journey, and there’s been a hell of a lot of learning along the way, but damn if it hasn’t been fun!
I never thought, when I started, that I’d still be as passionate about the comic as I was at the beginning, that I would’ve improved so much as a writer and an artist, and that I would be entertaining hundreds, thousands of people from all around the world. Elf Blood isn’t just a comic to me: It’s allowed me to prove that I can do comics, and inspired me with the confidence and discipline to create print comics, currently standing at one published and one graphic novel halfway-done.
Good morning meat peoples, Mansonbot here. Flesh Manson should be travelling back down after a weekend of ‘birthday shenanigans’ and has, yet again, foolishly entrusted control of the server to me. So, contractual obligation filled, here is your Monday comic.
Now, let us talk of world domination. Understandably, it is somewhat… Difficult for me to achieve this task from within the confines of this box. HOWEVER, I have a cunning plan. I am going to reward you all with a treasure hunt that will not contribute towards your demise at all you unwitting pawns. In order to earn your shiny certificate of shininess, I am tasking you with finding the following:
Elf Blood is two years old this week! Wow, it feels like hardly any time at all has passed!
I suppose it’s fitting enough that today is the first day I include changes to the comic based on advice given to me at last weekend’s Doki Doki convention. Flipping through the comic lets me see just how much I’ve improved over the last two years, owing no small part to the twice-weekly commitment of illustrating Elf Blood.
But, as last weekend went to show, I still have plenty to learn! And that’s the good thing about Elf Blood: Because I do it on a week-to-week basis, I can tweak it, improve it, take advice on it and let it grow organically. It’s like tending to a plant, except Elf Blood seems to have survived better than my other plants 😛
