3DS users rejoice! It’s new release day, and what an exciting pair of games they are!

Granted, they’re not brand-new; Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are, of course, re-hashes of the old Advance games, updated to use the new 3D graphics engine that X and Y originated. But damn if it isn’t good to get back to nostalgia avenue!

I haven’t been this excited about a redux since… Well, SoulSilver, I suppose. Silver’s still my favourite, and I honestly don’t know why. Maybe I just have fond memories of playing it as a child? I remember going to buy SoulSilver back in uni. The guy tried to upsell me on the strategy guide. The girl to his side chuckled and said “Look at him. He’s probably played it a dozen times before.” She was not wrong, and I declined that strategy guide!

Sapphire, I never really actually got that much into. I was convinced my copy was, in fact, a pirate copy, and for some reason that kind of put me off it, so I lost interest fairly rapidly. That, and Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission were distracting me from it. And Megamen.EXE, now that I think about it.

Man, there was a LOT of good stuff on the GBA. Glad I’ve still got a stack of carts and a DS so I can still play them!

Ooh, I’ve juuuuust checked… And my download is now ready. Do I wait with bated breath to play it on my train journey tomorrow? Or do I give in and play it right now, like an excited child on Christmas day?

… We all know the answer to that. See you on Monday! 😀
