Hey everyone – not too much to say today. I’m just glad that, so far as I know, nobody I know was hurt in the Manchester attack this week. Even though I don’t live there anymore, even though I moved back because I was missing Glasgow – Manchester was once my home. And the people there are tough. They won’t be beaten. There’s a reason the city’s emblem is the worker bee – they get shit done, through all sorts of adversity, and if you mess with them you’ll find they’re more than capable of holding their own.

Hey everyone! I’ve had a buuuusy busy weekend. Seriously, it feels like I’ve just stepped out of work and all of a sudden the weekend’s just flown by and I’ve gotta head back to the office… However, I’ve managed to get some stuff done that I think you might enjoy, so here, have a couple of links!
Here’s me reviewing a game I’ve been playing far too much of on my tablet.
And here’s me building a Lego Volkswagen Beetle. Even composed the tune myself!
Hey everyone! Well, we’re getting through this issue of Mei Wu at a blistering pace, now that I’m not being sent here there and everywhere 🙂 And we’re actually nearing the end! It’ll be a few weeks, right enough, but I think that gives me just enough time to whet your appetites for the next Elf Blood story 🙂
Who’s up for another story diving into the seedy underbelly of the local magical community, The Village? Who actually REMEMBERS the last time I actually used it in a story? This story will focus in on the Pleiades – which means you’ll be introduced to two whole new characters 😀 It also sets the scene and introduces some elements for a major – MAJOR – plot point in the story afterwards. I hope you enjoy intrigue and asskicking 😀
Hey everyone! After much consideration, I’ve finally accepted a quote for printing for two new books! Really looking forward to selling print work again, and I’m REALLY keen to start tabling at conventions and comic fairs!
I will, of course, be selling these online as well, just as soon as I can figure out how – I’ve seen other creators using Etsy, but does anyone have any rough-and-ready suggestions I can go and research in addition? It’d help shave a few days off my search 🙂
Hola folks! Hope you’re doing well!
Today, I’m going to do something I don’t do very often – pontificate about beer. Now, you all know I’m quite the foodie – I love eating as much as I enjoy making food. However, when it comes to alcohol, apart from cocktails, I’m relatively ignorant of the finer points of craft brews, small batches, etc. etc. I tend to try different things and stick to what I like best (Dry beers and lagers and dark rums, largely).
But I tried a new beer this week that absolutely. Blew. My. MIND. It’s so good I haven’t shut up about it to my friends and family! I’ve been drinking Drygate Brewery‘s core range for about a year now – I’m a fan of their Bearface Lager and their Axe Man Rye IPA (and I’m not normally an IPA fan). And I’ve been trying some from their new ‘Studio’ range recently – without all that much success.
Ahoy thar folks, nothing much from me to report today, other than – how expensive are A3 scanners??? I mean, a decent quality one can start out in the low thousands of pounds, unless you want to compromise and get one that’s liable to break on you. Fortunately, the only thing I need to scan in right now is pencils for a competition entry, so I can just half that and stitch it back together in photoshop. For paintings and drawings, though, I reckon I’ll just photograph them instead…
Hullo everybody! Just a quick post today, but this time fortunately not because I’m rushed – I just don’t have all that much to report, in all honesty!
It’s been a lovely few days here in the west of Scotland. Like, properly sunny and warm (“Taps Aff”, in our vernacular). And it’s going to continue being nice for at least the next couple of days. I actually think I’m going to sort out some outdoor planters – I’d love to grow some flowers to attract bees and whatnot. Anyone any suggestions for flowers? I’m thinking maybe cornflowers and lavender.
Hola folks! Hope you’re having a great weekend (assuming you do get today off as well – if not, you have my condolences and sympathies!)
I’ve decided to set up an Instagram account, as people have pointed out how odd it is that I work in a primarily visual medium, and yet am not on the most visual of social media platforms. So, if you’d care to check it out, you can find me at www.instagram.com/chrislaumanson/ – I’ll be trying to upload a picture every day. It may not be an original sketch or work, but at the very least I can upload a bit of process for those of you interested!
Woo! Another long weekend, and I’m feeling reasonably good! Nothing major planned, seeing as it’s just a bonus day, but at the very least I’m hoping to get some print stuff sorted out. And, since it’s been MONTHS since I’ve done anything, I really need to pick up my Mandarin and Spanish lessons again.
Anyone got any fun plans for the long weekend?
Catch you Monday for more Mei Wu!

Hey folks! I’ve got a couple of things I want to have a quick natter about today!
First off: Is anyone else watching the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 revival on Netflix? It’s so very good! Unfortunately, I never got to experience MST3K the first time round, I think I was a little too young for it at the time (not to mention that I didn’t have satellite or cable TV back in the day), so this is my first exposure to it. And it’s INCREDIBLY entertaining. The movies are deliciously clichéd, but never truly painful to watch, and the banter is always well-observed and hilarious, never malicious. It really does feel like watching bad movies with your mates and riffing on all the tropes you can feast on. I’d definitely recommend watching it!
